1998 Vacation pics

These are not in chronological order, since I can't remember what the order was. Instead, they're in order by the file name I gave them as I scanned them.

Ok, just a body washed up on the sand.

No, it's not the Bible or the Torah, unless they've added equations and pictures of optics. That's my foot at the bottom.

This was toward the end of vacation, so I did something easy.

The obligatory picture of me.

I'm not satisfied with this dolphin, because its fins are too far forward. Oh, well.

Surprisingly, this is the thing that lasted longest; several days. It was also one of the quickest things I did, since I just piled up sand and shaped it with my hands, and didn't even bother with a bucket of water to make really wet sand.

Again, I was lazy. There was a pile of sand where something else had been, but high tide had turned it into just an amorphous mass. I looked at it for a bit, and finally decided I could see the rough outline of a fish, and jusr worked with that. Looks a little like a piranha, I guess.

I think this one turned out the best of anything I did this time.

My girlfriend's daughter made some boobs (her word) beside the chair where she was, so I was prompted to do this 'happy face' just for kicks.

I did a lighthouse a couple of years ago, but I've got better since then, so I tried again. Turned out ok, but the sand didn't have the structural strength to make it as skinny as I wanted.

At one point I realized I could bend two yellow noodles to make the golden arches, so....

Just some pics of the moon rising over the lighthouse.

Here's my messy corner of the room, with all my books and stuff.

One night while we were shopping we watched the sun set. Very nice.

I tried to make a Galapogos turtle, but I don't remember exactly how they look, and it's hard to get the proper arch in the neck.

And finally, some pictures of the view from where we stayed.
